DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION (DEI)
VISION STATEMENT

Mid-Plains United Way is committed to being an inclusive organization that collaborates with a variety of individuals and strives for equity and equal opportunity in all that we do. Underlying our role and mission is a firm belief in the dignity of all people. We affirm this belief in our policies which guide and direct our employment practices, program funding, volunteer recruitment and service delivery. Diversity, as defined by the Mid-Plains United Way, provides equal opportunity to all people without regard to gender, age, disability, race, color, religion, marital status, veteran’s status, national or ethnic origin or sexual orientation. Through these promises to be inclusive we will be better able to be a catalyst for change in our community. We will create a welcoming environment for all; enable success for all; strive for fairness, civility and respect for all; and honor the variety of voices within our United Way and those of the Mid-Plains in Western Nebraska. Mid-Plains United Way promotes the full realization of this policy through the positive recognition of the value of diversity.

Mid-Plains United Way is fully committed to the recruitment of volunteers to fill all volunteer positions within the organization, and to the delivery and provision of service to meet the needs of the communities we serve. In order to promote and value diversity, the active participation and support of all members of our organization is required.

Mid-Plains United Way, Inc. is fully committed to the delivery and provision of service to meet needs of the community.

DEI Purpose Statement:

We will be ever-reaching as relevant change makers in our community. Aiming to inspire community engagement and contributions to further our partner organizations. We will be intentional about building a workforce that embodies the diversity of the communities that we serve. The pursuit of DEI will be entangled in our organizational priorities. We will foster a culture where each employee, board member, volunteer and community member feels valued, supported and appreciated.

 

We understand that our organization is strong and central to our community because of the respect, dignity, and value we give to all individuals; and because we aspire to involve people from all segments of our community in every aspect of our work. Our intent is to create and sustain an environment that encourages all individuals to reach their fullest potential in a positive and productive manner

 

Mid-Plains United Way is committed to:
