On behalf of the Mid-Plains United Way Board of Trustees and our 13 partner agencies, we would like to thank the members of the Union Pacific Railroad Foundation for their generous donation of $50,000 to the “Make It an Investment” Campaign.
Your support will make a difference as we will use your gift as an investment to put back in our community. For example, your investment will go towards a new piece of equipment for the Bridge of Hope Advocacy Center that is un-invasive for the victim.
In another instance, your gift will help kids receive brand new clothes for the first day of school from L2 for Kids. Though your investment goes towards the clothing, what it really does is give the children self-confidence to start the school year. And we could go on and on with other examples.
We also want to thank Tony Orr, UPRR’s Superintendent of Bailey Yards for his involvement and support of the Mid-Plains United Way. We are also thankful to have had Jeff Everett, Director of Transportation Services on our board the last two years. He has brought his experience and knowledge to every meeting and is an amazing steward of the investments that go to our partner agencies.
But most especially, we want to thank the North Platte Union Pacific Railroad employees, unions, and retirees for your continued support to your Mid-Plains United Way and its agencies. We pledge that your investment will be put to great use in North Platte and our service area communities. You’ll never know the vast numbers of lives you’ve touched and the direct impact you’ve made in our communities.
Along with the Board of Trustees,
